Behind some old scars there is a beautiful, gentle girl named Lady! Lady appears to be an Aussie/Shepherd mix that is approximately 2 years old. Lady was found on her foster's door step - they suspected she had broken free from their neighbor, a notorious breeder who chains his dogs to posts and keeps them out in the elements, whether it's 100 degrees or 0 degrees. We believe Lady was being used for breeding and was abused. Her front leg was infected, but now better since being on antibiotics.
Lady is shy and cautious around new people, especially men, but she is getting better everyday now that she knows she is safe. She is a quick learner and is house trained, leash trained and crate trained. She knows "sit" and "no" and is learning how to fetch. We strongly encourage obedience training, as it will not only help teach her commands, but it will help with her shyness and it is a great way for her to bond with her new family. Lady gets along with all her foster mom's dogs and kittys (she has 18 cats and 7 dogs). Lady even let the alpha of the pack show her a thing or two and now they are best friends. She has yet to be tested around children. Lady has a moderate energy level and does like to play, a fenced-in yard would be ideal - if not Lady will need to get other forms of off leash play and exercise, such as at a dog park.
Lady is a great girl and is getting better everyday! She deserves a family who will devote lots of time and love to her. If you would like to be Lady's fur-ever family, please fill out an application...it will be love at first WOOF!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
