“PUNKIN’ LOVIN’ PUPS!” ADOPTION EVENT!!!

This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet sweet Rainey! Rainey appears to be a Manchester Terrier mix that is approximately 20 months old. We don't know a lot about Rainey, as she was found as a stray by animal control. We do know that Rainey is super friendly and loves everyone she meets. She smiles when she's excited! She is good with other dogs her size and larger, but seems to want to dominate smaller dogs. She hasn't been around cats. She's good with children, but in her exuberance to play, she jumps on them so a home with older children may be best until she learns not to jump. She LOVES to play and be petted. Rainey is completely house trained and sleeps in her crate at night - her foster mom just says, "Let's go nighty-night!" and she goes right into her crate. She walks on a leash, but she will need more leash work. We recommend Rainey attend obedience training - besides teaching commands and manners, obedience training also helps with socializing with other dogs and helps form a lasting bond for the new family. She is very smart and would love to show you how well she learns! Rainey has a moderate energy level and does not require a fenced-in yard - as long as she gets other sources of off-leash play and exercise, such as at a dog park. So far Rainey has only been crated during car rides, and unfortunately she gets car sick. It is common for puppies and young dogs to get car sick, and most of the time they will outgrow it, however if Rainey does not outgrow it - talk to your vet about remedies to help with it. She LOVES to be held and get belly rubs! If Rainey is the girl you have been searching for, please fill out an application...Rainey can't wait to meet you!
Medical Note: Rainey tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that Rainey had ehrlichia. Rainey is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline. Please see here for more information on

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
