This here is Oliver or "Ollie," as he's affectionately known!
Ollie's a great little guy who's leash trained and working diligently on his house training and crate training. He appears to be a Terrier mix about 5 years old who was picked up as a stray. He does whine and bark for some time when crated, but then settles down so he's probably not a candidate for apartment living. His current foster does crate him when she leaves and at night. He loves to play with other dogs, he ignores kitty cats, and he's great around kids. He'll need a bit of help with his house manners - he's a chewer, so he'll need lots of chew toys, he's in the habit of jumping on guests, jumping on the furniture, has done some marking, and is quite vocal. He will also...ummm...be a bit indelicate with some other dogs. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes, not only because you get to learn commands together and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, but because it helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his human family. And it’s lots of fun! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him. Though Ollie doesn’t necessarily require a fenced yard, he will need daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park which is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Ollie is smart, affectionate, even-tempered, eager to please, gentle, very playful, and a bit goofy at times.
