This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

Meet your new little buddy, Moe (he came in with the name LoBo, but we are calling him Moe). Moe looks to be a Pug mix who is approximately 5 years old. He loves his people and will shower them with cuddles, kisses and affection.  He loves to cuddle and will put his head on his foster mom's neck to snuggle up.

Moe is housetrained and co-exists nicely with the other dogs. He doesn't really play with them or with toys, maybe because he's older or maybe because he just prefers the company of people. He is fine with cats, as long as they don't run - if they do he will chase after them. He can be nervous at first with young children, but just like with strangers, going slow and having tasty treats wins Moe over quickly.  Moe LOVES walks as well as car rides (especially to get doggy ice cream) and his size makes him very portable. He can be protective over the car - when someone walks by he will bark. This can be worked on and will likely improve as his confidence builds.  A fenced yard would be a plus, but he also loves going outside on a leash. He LOVES his walks!

Moe has some underlying uncertainty and anxiety.  He has been on Prozac for a few months and this has really helped him handle the changes in his life.  In Moe's first foster home, he had limited exposure to men and new things, and he displayed some nervousness and growled when uncertain. In several successive foster homes, however, he has slowly been exposed to new situations and people, and he has been very tolerant of them.  Going slow and having some some high value treats like tasty chicken nuggets or hot dogs goes a LONG way with Moe - with those things, he is open to being anyone's best pal.

Even though he has already made great progress, Moe will need continued work on building his confidence and creating positive associations with new situations and people.  Group training classes will help Moe with his confidence, and also help his people bond with him.  Moe's new home should plan to continue his Prozac for at least a few months after adoption (it costs less than $10/month) to help him through the transition.  He may always benefit from being on Prozac, or he may outgrow that tool.

Moe is an incredibly sweet and gentle soul, looking for an equally kind and patient home; is he the missing piece that you have been looking for?  If so, please fill out an application and you may be getting a new love in your life named Moe!

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
