Age: 1 Year
Weight: 52 lbs
Location: RI

This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

Let's talk about Oly! Oly is a strikingly beautiful girl with the most gorgeous soulful eyes. She appears to be an Aussie mix around 1 year old and 52 pounds. She has a gentle, calm personality and loves everyone including other dogs, cats and children. She is a playful girl that likes toys, fetching balls, and swimming. She will make a great friend to bring to the beach for a run, go hiking or just for a quiet walk - you name it, Oly will be right by your side making whatever you are doing much more fun! She also calms down nicely and will sit next to you and be all sweet and cuddly. She would love a home with a fenced-in yard but she would also be fine with leash walks and taken to a dog park for some safe off-leash exercise. She is leash trained and crate trained; we do not know if she is house trained. We recommend obedience training for all our dogs. Oly came to us from an abuse case. She had no fur and wasn't being fed or given any water. Her fur is all grown back, she is all healed and waiting for a place to call home. If you would like Oly to join your family, please fill out an application...she will bring you many years of fun and happiness!

Medical Note: Oly was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. She has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741 . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehrlichiosis_(canine). Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

Adoption Fee: $425
To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
