Shy, sweet Sadie Solis - just look at that face! How can you not fall totally in love with her???
Sadie appears to be a Chiweenie - a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix about 6 months old. She's very sweet and affectionate, and responds to attention. She's shyly friendly. She would be ideal for someone who had time to work with her and build her confidence and socialization skills. She's currently working diligently on her crate training and leash walking. She will need to be house trained. Sadie is good with other dogs and even with kitty cats. She hasn't been introduced to any children yet. She is playful and smart, appears to be even-tempered, and is gentle. She's also funny and oh-so-cute! She can be a bit skittish and will go to the back of her crate, but she doesn't avoid being picked up nor does she try to bite.
We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and her human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take her. Though a fenced yard is an ideal place for your puppy to romp and play safely, if that’s not an option then lots of daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Puppies are a lot of work and require a strong commitment to teaching them obedience, socializing them with other dogs and people, playing with them and loving them to pieces. It takes a lot of time, energy and patience to bring up a puppy - and it’s totally worth it!

Sadie was one of thirteen dogs surrendered by a husband and wife who were living in severe poverty - no sewer and no running water. They had been using the shelter feeding program and it was discovered that they had 23 dogs living in their house as they hadn't been able to afford to spay or neuter them, and the dogs just kept reproducing. Sweet affectionate Sadie Solis is dreaming of her forever home - a place filled with love and treats. Fill out an application today for Sadie and make her dreams come true!

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
