Meet Jack the Kisser!
This adorable little guy appears to be a Chihuahua mix about 4 months old. He just LOVES to give kisses! He can be shy and growly at first, especially if he's in his crate and will lunge at strangers, but once left alone he'll come out and go right up to people! He's very possessive of his crate-space. He's good with other dogs and with older kids who can respect his small size. He's working diligently on his house training, crate training and leash walking. We strongly recommend that all our dogs - and especially puppies - attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him. Though a fenced yard is an ideal place for your puppy to romp and play safely, if that’s not an option then lots of daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Jack is playful and likes toys, is affectionate, eager to please, smart, gentle and puppy-goofy! He can be overwhelmed and timid in new situations and is cautiously shy with new people. Being a puppy, he's got a lot of typical puppy habits that will need working on: chewing, jumping on guests and furniture, marking, barking, and checking out the latest addition to the trash barrel. He hasn't been introduced to kitty cats so we don't yet know what he thinks of them. Jack was an owner surrender because a bigger dog in the home was being aggressive toward him.

Puppies are a lot of work and require a strong commitment to teaching them obedience, socializing them with other dogs and people, playing with them and loving them to pieces. It takes a lot of time, energy and patience to bring up a puppy - and it’s totally worth it! If you're willing to give your all to Jack, fill out an application today! Jack the Kisser got lots of sweet kisses saved up just for you!

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
