This is "nacho" regular cute little dog, Nacho is mucho cute!!!
And such a sweet little dude! He appears to be a Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua mix about 10 and a half months old. He's a wonderful little dog, shyly friendly, and good with kids and other dogs. He hasn't been introduced to kitty cats as of yet. Nacho is house trained, crate trained and working diligently on learning to walk on a leash. He loves to play with toys and he's always up for a rousing game of fetch. He does well in the car and even when he's full-grown will be such a perfect portable size, just right for accompanying his people on all their adventures. He's a bit timid in new situations, but calm about it all. He's got a jump on obedience classes - he already knows "sit" and "wait." We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him. Though Nacho doesn’t necessarily require a fenced yard, he will need lots of daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park which is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Nacho's fur is a combination of silky and wire hair, and his foster has not observed any shedding. He is allowed on the furniture in his foster home, so if that's not allowed in his forever home, he'll need to learn "off" and may need to be reminded for a while.

 

Rescue Story: Nacho came to our Texas partner's shelter in January with another dog, Rocky Road, who is also with SOS looking for his forever home. Nacho was missing a lot of hair from flea allergy and Rocky Road had multiple extreme lacerations that have since healed well. They've been fostered together and are best buds who comfort each other. Their foster was going to adopt Nacho, but decided he should go with Rocky and travel with him up north in the same crate - it seems Rocky would make the long trip much better this way.
