This totally handsome dude is Landry!
Landry appears to be a German Shorthaired Pointer mix about 6 years old. He's an absolutely amazing dog and the perfect companion! He was surrendered by a woman who was elderly and had had him for a few months, but was having trouble caring for a large dog. His previous owners gave him to her because they were gone for too long and couldn't deal with his separation anxiety. Once he settles in and knows the routine, he seems to be fine. His current fosters are gone a typical workday and he is crated during that time with no issues. He's a fun, cuddly, precious dog who gets along great with kids (he LOVES them), cats, other dogs and even horses. He loves to lay on his person's lap and doesn't mind other pups piling on top of him. He's perfectly content napping at your feet and absolutely ecstatic to be running or swimming along side of you. He would love to sleep in bed with his humans, but he'll also settle right down on his bed on the floor in case his forever family doesn't do pups in bed.
He's house trained, crate trained and walks on a leash - and he's learning to play fetch! He already knows "sit" and "down" and would love to attend obedience classes with his new people because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him. Though Landry doesn’t necessarily require a fenced yard, he will need lots of daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park which is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games.

Landry is eagerly looking foward to finding his forever family, settling in and being included in as many things as possible. If you've been looking for an adventure buddy, fill out an application for Landry today!

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
