This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Hey, Zeke! Welcome to SOS! This gorgeous hunk appears to be a Labrador Retriever/Hound mix about 2 years old. He somehow found himself at a local farm supply in Arkansas and well, now he's thinking that a forever home would be the best thing he could possibly wish for. He's a friendly boy who likes to play fetch and play with toys. He knows "sit," "paw," and "in" to go into his crate. He's working on "down" at the moment but he gets easily distracted and is not super treat motivated. He would love to go to obedience classes with his new family so y'all could learn some new stuff together. He's affectionate, even-tempered and gentle, interested in new people, new places, new doggie friends. He's really lovely with children and fine with cats and other dogs. He is crate trained and walks on a leash - and he's house trained. Though Zeke doesn’t necessarily require a fenced yard (if it were fenced it would need to be at least 6 feet since he's quite the jumper), he will need lots of daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park which is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. It was said that Zeke has a prey drive, but he was only mildly interested in the cats at the shelter and seems to ignore all the squirrels and rabbits he encounters on his walks. He's super quiet and very clever - he can be a little sneaky at times - just a generally well-behaved dog who loves naps in between all the games of fetch.

Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline.
