This sweet face belongs to Yeller!
He appears to be a Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix about 8 months old. He's a quiet boy looking for a forever home that's on the quieter side with forever people who'll have the time to help him build up his confidence. He's good with kids (the older, non-rambunctious type) and other dogs, and uninterested in cats. He'll need house training, is already crate trained and is working on his leash walking - when he's unsure of himself he'll do the ol' belly crawl. He's one of about 24 dogs who came from a poverty situation, so being on his own is new for him. He's working on some basic commands, but would benefit from attending obedience classes with his new people - this is a great way to help with confidence building, socialization and bonding with his human family. Yeller's very affectionate and he wouldn't mind curling up on your lap for some cuddle time. He's eager to please, even-tempered, gentle and sometimes a bit on the goofy side. He does need time to warm up to new people and new situations, but he is interested - just a bit shy and timid. Though a fenced yard provides a safe place for your dog to play, if that's not an option then leash walks and some off-leash time in a dog park for play and exercise will work. A tired dog is a good dog, they say! And dogs of all ages benefit from mental exercise, too - think puzzle toys and games.
Yeller's wondering if you'd like to be his forever family. Fill out an application today! He's waiting just for you!

We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
