This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Who is Sammy Sam?
Sammy Sam is a gentle, sweet, handsome guy with loads of potential! His mom was said to be a yellow Labrador Retriever and his father a black Labrador Retriever mix. The owner of Sammy's mother no longer wanted him so he turned him over to our southern rescue partner. He has all the wonderful qualities of a Labrador Retriever mix, from the playful energy - all the way to the endless amount of devotion for his humans. He is submissive with other dogs and would do great in a home with an existing well-behaved dog. He has not met any children yet but because of his sweetness, we think he would be great. He is always up for action, he loves to run, play tug-of war, and wrestle. A fenced-in yard would be great for him, if not he will need lots of walks and trips to a dog park. He also loves to be petted and cuddled. He walks well on the leash, and is just about house trained. He doesn't like to initially go in the crate but once he is in, he does okay. He may try to escape if frightened, so extra care should be taken around open gates or doors. He will need some basic obedience training and once he has it, he will the type of dog that everyone dreams of having
