Say hello to Webster!
Webster appears to be a Shih Tzu mix, around one year old. Aren't his long gray hair and bushy eyebrows just adorable? He will need to be groomed regularly to keep up his handsome appearance! He is very affectionate and loves to sit in his humans' laps or on the couch with them whenever he can. He is usually even-tempered, but can be "grumpy" at times. He is also very playful! Webster does well with most dogs, but will get annoyed if they pester him too much. He has a high prey drive and is not good with cats. We think he would do best in a home with adults only, who will understand that he can be "grumpy" at times and give him the space he needs. He is leash-trained, and currently working on house-training and crate-training. When crated he will sometimes bark if he feels as though he is missing out on something. We strongly recommend that all of our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen the bond between the dog and his family. It's lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him. Webster is playful and energetic, but does not require a fenced-in yard. He will need lots of daily walks and opportunities for off-leash play. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation - think puzzle toys and games.
Webster has come a long way since he was found on the side of the road in April by one of our southern partners, matted, dehydrated, and with a fractured pelvis. His pelvis is now healed, however, the injury may result in early onset arthritis and may require future surgery or medication. Don't wait to fill out an application if you think Webster is the right dog for you, he is ready to find his forever home!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
