Meet Klein Eternity, our second OFFICIAL Hurricane Harvey pup!
Klein and his brother were found huddled under some plywood by a citizen, who kept them in the backyard for a month until the landlord found out. Both dogs were extremely thin - Klein was only 16 lbs.! He's so happy to have been rescued and can't wait to find his forever home and people! He's super cute and appears to be a Whippet/Labrador Retriever mix about 6 and a half months old. He's quite the handsome chap, playful and friendly with kids and other dogs. He's always curious about meeting new people and dogs. He hasn't been introduced to kitties yet, but he does respect correction if he gets too rough with the smaller dogs in his foster home. He LOVES chew toys and squeaky toys and playgroup, games of chase and tug-of-war - oh, don't forget wrestling! He LOVES being outside exploring, too. Once all that lovely play is done, he's more than happy to just hang out and chill. Klein is crate trained and rides well in the car, either loose or crated. He's working diligently on his house training, and he'll need some more work on the leash, since zig-zagging is his current style of walking. He'd love a fenced yard to play safely in, but if that's not an option then daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park will do him just fine. He has already started working on some basic commands and knows "sit," "down," "shake," and is working on "stay" and "wait." He's really looking forward to taking obedience classes with his new humans so he can learn some more cool stuff, do some socializing with new dogs and people, and get in some quality bonding time with his forever family. He's eager to please, and being treat and toy motivated, training should go well. He'd like to get in some mental exercise, too, so puzzle toys, treat dispensing toys, and games would be a welcome addition to his toy box. He doesn't really have any bad manners - he may try to jump on people if he's really excited to see them, but he responds well to the "down" command.
