"Do you like to explore? Well, I'm Bailey and it's one of my FAV things to do!!!"

Bailey appears to be a Terrier/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix about 7 years old. She's the perfect size; she's got a compact body with a tan coat, white toes, and partially blue left eye!

This girl is ALWAYS ready-for-action, but is also more than happy to settle down for a bit of cuddling after lots of good exercise.

Maybe you're looking for a new hobby? Well, Bailey would make a fantastic agility dog.  She   is SUPER smart, eager to please and treat motivated.  She LOVES to play with toys and will entertain herself for hours, but also enjoys her people joining in and have to "hunt" for things.

She is house and crate trained, rides well in the care and w alks very nicely on a leash...until she sees another dog or small animal.   Bailey has leash reactivity towards other dogs, and also a very high prey drive.  One of her most favorite things to do is chase squirrels in her fenced yard - she is so quick she even caught a rat once!  Bailey has never lived in a home with other animals, and based upon what we have observed between her and other dogs and small animals, we know she needs to be an only pet.  Not only will her ideal home not have any other pets, but ideally they will not have any next-door pet neighbors either, so as to keep the stress levels down for everyone.   Adding to her long list of positive attributes, Bailey is quiet in the home, and  friendly and comfortable with all kinds of people, even children, strange and familiar .

Does this gorgeous girl sound like your soul-mate?  While she needs a specific home that can meet her needs, we know the right one is out there for her, and we promise she will make you oh-so-very-happy.  Fill out an application today and her people will get right back to you!

Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741 . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
