Laid back in that hound sorta way, that's the Hillbilly Pups!
We've got a whole passle of 'em for ya! There are five boys, Dash Riprock, Earl Scruggs, Homer, Jethro and Lester Flatt; and one girl, Elly May. They appear to be a Coonhound mix somewhere between 3 and 4 months old and will most likely be big dogs when fully grown. Though as a pack of puppies playing or excited about food, they're noisy, in general these puppies are quiet. Playful, floppy, outgoing and affectionate, each one of these puppies is great with other dogs, with children that've come to play with them, and with kittie cats! They haven't had any potty training or crate training yet, but do walk on a leash. Their play style is typical puppy romp and tumble. A fenced yard is the ideal safe place for your Hillbilly hound to run and play, but if it's not an option then daily leash walks with opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park is the next best thing. And to exercise and keep that puppy mind busy, think puzzle toys and games. We highly recommend that you attend obedience classes with your new furry family member so he or she can continue socialization with new dogs and humans, build up confidence all while learning lots of cool stuff and spending some quality bonding time together! As you can see from some of the photos, it looks as though these little cuties will want a kiddie pool to play in this summer!
The Hillbilly pups were dropped off at a Mississippi farm out in the country and the farmers brought them to our rescue partner. Now they each are looking to find a forever home and are wondering if you might have the time, energy and patience to raise up a puppy. Earl Scruggs would love to hear from you! We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
