Meet beautiful Harvie Highwater!
This gorgeous girl was found tied to a tree during Hurricane Harvey, which tells us where she got her name. Her smiling face tells us that's she's thrilled to have been rescued! She looks to be a Labrador Retriever/Terrier mix about a year old. She knows how to use a doggie door and is working on "regular" house training. She is crate trained, and will need some leash work, since she tends to pull at first. She plays well with other dogs, likes going for walks and playing fetch. She also loves toys of the chew and squeaky variety! She's smart, toy motivated and eager to please - a great combination for acing obedience classes, where you'll learn cool stuff together and get to spend some quality bonding time. Harvie settles nicely after activities - and after initially greeting guests by jumping up on them (she'll need help learning not to do this). She is allowed on the couch in her current foster home. She's affectionate and can be a goofy-girl - she's just a love! She also currently lives with kitty cats and though interested in them, can be redirected if necessary. She has been playful with children she's met. She'd love a fenced yard to play fetch in safely, but if that's not an option then daily leash walks for exercise and opportunities to play fetch at a dog park will make her happy. And to keep her canine mind happy, think puzzle toys and games.

Harvie's Backstory: As mentioned above, she was found tied to a tree during Hurricane Harvey. She was rescued by Missouri City Animal Control, adopted out and five months later, her adopters were giving her away free! Her previous foster saw and took her back in so she wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. Now she's an SOS doggie and hopefully will soon be New England bound!
