Kadie is a sweet girl who’s calm, quiet, and LOVES to give hugs! She's crate trained and will do a little dance if she needs to go potty and wants to get out of her crate - she also likes to have something to chew on...and a treat or two will not be refused. She's super on-leash and loves to go for walks. She will sniff every inch along the way! We're thinking she's a lovely blend of Terrier and Beagle, about 9 or 10 years old.  She has shown some marking tendencies, but once settled into a space, she is housetrained.  Kadie would do best as an only child, as she doesn’t care to share her space with other dogs.  She ignores other dogs while out on walks, and doesn't care to socialize.  She is not fond of cats and she can be aggressive with them at first, letting them know they need to stay away, then she avoids them. She approaches every human she meets - big and little - with curiosity and is very gentle. She just ADORES children, but doesn't care for them to hang on her.  She doesn't play much - she's more of a couch potato who loves her naps and snuggling with her humans - and any new humans she meets who want to pet her.  She would prefer her human to be home more than not, and she's happy and excited to go for car rides, so she will want to be your errand buddy! She has been to the beach and LOVES it! Kadie doesn't beg, snore, bark, or chew up anything, but she definitely thinks your bed, couch, chaise, or favorite chair really should be hers...however, she's usually willing to share... 

Kadie's Backstory: Kadie was found as a puppy along with her brother Buster, and their mom who had been killed by a car. The two pups sat by their mom's side until a volunteer with our Mississippi rescue partner came along and brought them to the shelter. Kadie was adopted out once, but her fur friends in her new home didn't welcome her with open arms, so she was returned and has lived at the shelter ever since. This beautiful sweet girl is just looking for a home all her own with human(s) who will love on her like she deserves to be loved on. She'd make the perfect companion for an elderly or single person.

We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
