Gentle Nani is very sweet and affectionate!
She loves her alone time with her people, but also doesn't mind at all hanging out in her pen with her canine sister. Nani appears to be either a Husky mix or a White German Shepherd mix - either way she's gorgeous! We're thinking she's about a year old. She shares nicely, is very calm, and has lived in a home for most of her life - she's house trained, fine in a crate and walks well on a leash. She's great with other dogs; playful, but doesn't rough wrestle. She's interested in cats, but has not been tested co-habitating with them. She hasn't been introduced to children yet. She's eager to please, smart and treat motivated - a great combination to ace obedience classes. She's already working on "sit" and "stay." She can't wait to learn more with her new forever human(s)! She loves going for walks, hiking and running, so an active family would be ideal for her. Daily leash walks with opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park will work just fine if a fenced yard is not an option. To exercise her canine mind, think puzzle toys and games. Though Nani is always ready for action, she'll settle down nicely when "activity time" is done.

Nani's Story: A family reached out to our Mississippi rescue partner because they were being forced to move to a new home that wouldn't allow pets. The shelter had no room at the time so Nani, her three puppies and her sister Luna were kept safe by the family for four weeks and then surrendered to the shelter. Nani's very calm and gentle for such a young dog of her breed mix guess.
