"Hi, I'm Odin 'cause Odin sounds much better than Clod Hopper. I have these big ol' feet I don’t know what to do with! My clod hoppers keep me from stopping when I run after a toy (there's a photo to prove it), and they might make me a little bit taller but deep down I’m just a big ol' baby who has no idea how big I'm gonna be when I grow up. These people tell me I’m gonna be a REALLY big boy!"
Odin was surrendered by his owner to our Mississippi rescue partner's shelter and they were told that he's a Golden Retriever mix, however he has many characteristics of a Great Pyrenees so that's what we're guessing the mix might be. He's a sweet lovable fluff ball who not only loves to play with toys, but loves attention, and belly and back rubs from humans. He likes to get dirty and play in the dirt (like most boys) - he doesn't dig, just likes to sit in it if he feels like chilling out and he does NOT care if he gets his pretty blonde coat dirty! He's very active and loves to run around, but he's also happy to cuddle. He likes balls and will fetch - still working on the "drop it" part, though he doesn't care if you take it from him. He's pretty good on leash, is working on crate training; potty training is still on his "to doo" list. He's great with kids, cats and other dogs. He'd love a fenced yard to run in, but daily leash walks for exercise, business and fun will work, too - especially if trips to a local dog park happen! Odin hasn't learned any commands yet, but he's heard that puppy training classes are a blast so he says to count him in for that! And among all those toys he expects in his toy box, he'd like some to keep his canine mind sharp - puzzle toys and games should do the trick!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
