Bailey Babe gets along well with people of all ages!
This sweet Hound mix appears to be a "pocket hound," meaning she'll most likely be medium sized when full grown. She also gets along good with other dogs, though she can be a bit overbearing sometimes. She finds kitties interesting, but hasn't lived with them. She doesn't show any signs of wanting to escape the yard at the shelter as long as she has human companionship, but we think if left alone, she may get bored and try to jump a fence (a 6-ft. fence is advised if the yard is fenced). She has lots of energy and is looking for an active adopter who is willing and able to give her the attention and exercise she needs to channel that energy - she'll be a great hiking or running buddy. She will greatly benefit from obedience classes and maybe some advanced training, like nose work or agility. Puzzle toys and games can help keep that active canine mind busy. Daily leash walks for exercise, business and adventure will work if a fenced yard for running (and digging in) is not available. Bailey does "watchdog" bark, but is otherwise a quiet girl. She has not had any house training yet, but does walk on leash. She keeps her crate clean, but is definitely not a big fan of being in it!

Bailey Babe's Backstory: She was found by a previous adopter in a country area of Mississippi carrying a hook and tie lead on her collar. The two older, resident dogs showed aggression toward this younger, smaller pup so they tried separating them, which we think meant leaving Bailey confined in the back yard. They had a few issues containing her in there so decided to board her until they reached out to our SOS rescue partner in Mississippi for help.
