Yogi Berra will steal your heart and everyone else's around you!
This adorable boy is a gentle, sweet soul who can be very playful with people and other dogs once he has warmed up to them. He comes alive around other dogs, so would likely thrive in a household with another well-balanced dog. He has also been living with a cat and while he is interested and would like to play a little with her, he is not too persistent and never aggressive (the cat is also very dog savvy!). He can be shy around strangers at first, in particular men and children. Based on his gentle behavior with puppies, we think he may be one of those dogs who understands little ones are vulnerable. He has not been exposed to much in his short life, so he will need his new person(s) to be committed to building his confidence in new places, people, and experiences in short, small field trips. His current foster home is very quiet without many new people coming and going, and that will likely be the best home-life background in order for his confidence building to continue. When comfortable, he loves to play with chew toys and squeaky toys, as well as go on walks with his hoomans! He really enjoys chasing other dogs, too, and playing fetch!

Yogi is solidly house trained and is fine in a crate once you bribe him to go in. He's doing great with some basic commands: sit, stay, leave it and drop it. He waits to take his food. He does have a fondness for tearing up clothes, in particular underwear and socks, so laundry needs to be guarded. He's mostly quiet but will sometimes alert bark while out in the yard. He doesn't get fixated though and can be redirected pretty quickly. He LOVES to snuggle on the couch!

Yogi Berra is a very sweet soul who just hasn't had the chance to learn about the world. We are pretty confident though, that once he has been exposed to more and in the right ways, he will make a great adventure buddy with his new family!
