This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

This playful, gentle girl is Macy!
She was picked up as a stray by our Arkansas rescue partner in early April. She looks to be a Shepherd mix maybe born early April in 2016. We're still getting to know her, but what we do know, we LOVE! She does well with other dogs, and due to her gentle, affectionate nature, we think she'll do well with children. She respects corrections, is smart and eager to please so obedience training should be a snap. Though a fenced yard may not be necessary, she will need daily leash walks for exercise, business and just plain adventure! To keep that canine mind sharp, think puzzle toys and games.

Macy has not been introduced to kitty cats so we don't know what she thinks of them. We do know she's wishing real hard to find her forever home! Maybe she's looking for you? Fill out an application today and let's get Macy home...forever!

Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741 . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehrlichiosis_(canine) . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.
