Hello Friends, my name is Bailey!
I am a gorgeous mix of Australian Shepherd and Collie. I consider myself super attentive, lovable and intelligent. I also stay true to my Collie roots by following my hoomans around the house throughout the day like herding sheep! In fact, I will stick by my hooman(s) side because I prefer to not be alone. But I can handle being left alone crated or loose like a big girl for a few hours or even a full work day if needed! Did I mention that I love to go for long walks and/or hikes and cuddle up on the couch for distanced cuddles with belly rubs for a movie? If that sounds like your kind of day, then I am the pup for you!
Like my other furry friends, I do have some preferences you should know about. I would love to be in a quiet neighborhood with all the attention on me, sorry other doggie friends, but this girl prefers a one-dog only household! I have never been exposed to cats before, but considering my chase and play nature, perhaps I would do best without them in the house. As for the smaller humans, I’ve seen them from a distance and visited with them in short, controlled spells, but never lived with them and not sure I would like to.
Did someone say training? You will be happy to know that I am fully crate-trained and house-trained! Check out that double win right there. I have mastered the skills of sit, stay, lay and take-it when it comes to taking food. As for my on-leash skills, I can occasionally be spooked by loud sounds outside, cars and other dogs. This means I am reactive to certain sounds and things outside, please do not fear, I would love for you to help me with this through professional training. My foster home is working extremely hard on this with me now but it will need to be continued with my adopter! Continuing professional training whether it be one-on-one or in a group class with other furry buds is a necessity for my adoption. I am constantly eager to learn new skills and to unleash
my greatest potential for my furever home.
Want to know my biggest kryptonite? PEANUT BUTTER! Oh my goodness, when my hoomans fill my toys with that delicious stuff, I am the happiest dog ever. Can you say peanut butter coma for one please! At night, I would love the soothing sound of a fan to block out any loud noises from outside, this keeps me super chill and helps me sleep like a baby. I know I require a lot of attention, exercise and patience, but I promise you I will love you endlessly, be the best sidekick and remain loyal to you! If you are down for this pup, fill out an application for me today!
Medical Note: A littermate of this dog tested positive and was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program over a year ago. This dog has been on Nexgard as a flea/tick preventative and has shown no symptoms of demodectic mange. Please note that demodex can have a hereditary component and/or flare up in any dog in times of stress (e.g., transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a personal or family history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange:

. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
