Karma is the sweetest girl!
She absolutely LOVES to cuddle! She's good with other dogs and would love a fursibling to play with and show her the ropes. We're thinking she's a Collie mix born probably sometime near the beginning of June 2018. She and her two siblings were picked up and brought to the shelter of one of our Arkansas rescue partners by a kind citizen who couldn't afford to keep them. Karma had been hit by a car, but fortunately she had no broken bones, only multiple wounds that have healed nicely. Living in a shelter environment, she has not had any basic life skills training: house, crate or leash, but she's a smart cookie and eager to please so with lots of encouragement, praise and treats she should pick them up fairly quickly. Attending obedience classes with her new human(s) will be an important part of furthering her education, socialization and confidence building. She hasn't been introduced to kiddos or kitties yet. A fenced yard would be ideal but daily leash walks for exercise, business and adventure will work, too.
Gentle Karma can't wait to settle into her very own forever home! Can it be yours? Fill out an application today and her people will get right back to you!
Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodecticin-dogs/741. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.
Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28- day course of doxycycline. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Ehrlichiosis_(canine). Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
