Lacy is a sweet girl!
She appears to be a Yorkshire Terrier Mix born around the beginning of June 2017. She came to our partner shelter as a surrender from a girl who found her roaming her neighborhood. She later reported that she determined Lacy lived in a garage and let out everyday to fend for herself when her owners left for work. She thus has some training issues which her foster family has been working on. She only barks when left alone in a crate, but not when she has a friend with her, and so crate training is in progress, along with potty training. She appears to be leash trained and loves going on car rides. She has been tested with five year old children and did great! She is fine being left alone in the house and is not at all destructive, but you might find her napping on the couch when you come home.

Lacy is great with other dogs and one of her best friends is her foster’s lab whom she grooms and kisses! She loves playing with her foster’s other dogs and cuddles with her senior dogs. She really is a sweetie!

Lacy is a sweet, sensitive, and playful girl that just wants a loving forever home. Can you make her dream come true? Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family!

Medical Note : This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
