Nova Paisley has beautiful steel blue eyes!
Nova (also know as Simon in his foster home) is a sweet and lovable puppy. We are thinking he is a Catahoula mix. If you aren’t familiar with Catahoulas they are sometimes called Catahoula Leopard dogs and are working/herding dogs from the southern US. Catahoulas are the only dog breed that originates from the state of Louisiana.
Nova is house- and crate trained, and still working on his leash training. He has gone through a basic training class series, but could benefit from additional training. He is eager to please, and is toy and treat motivated. He has lived safely with cats for the last 2-3 months, but he does enjoy playing with them and not all cats would dig that. He also enjoys playing with other dogs, as well as running around with kids. He gets very excited when around tiny children, and that might be a little too much, but otherwise he could be a great family addition. Gentle and goofy, he's a quiet pup, but you might hear him bark when he is playing with other dogs. He loves his toys and is happy to chill with a ball when he is not playing with you!
Nova would love to find a forever family who has lots of time and patience to raise a puppy properly, and who has lots of extra time for loving and cuddles. If you are looking for a puppy, Nova may be perfect for you! Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!
Paisley Pups' story: Nova was one in a litter of five. His pregnant mom was found abandoned in the woods in Texas. She was brought to a shelter and later to a loving foster home where she had these precious puppies. All of the Paisley litter was adopted quickly after their arrival in New England. Nova was placed in a loving adoptive home for a few months where he mastered house training and made good progress with crate training, but he is now looking for a new home as he likes to playfully chase the cats in the home and they have not been able to adapt.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
