Ebony is as sweet as they come!
She's calm and gentle with everything and everyone - dogs, kids, and adults! She rarely barks except for her excited, "oh boy, a treat!" bark. She seems to be house trained and walks like a lady on leash. She was found at a business in an industrial area in Mississippi where our rescue partner took her in and had her vetted. We 're thinking she's a Border Collie mix about 3 years old, maybe a bit younger. She hasn't had any formal training, but in light of her suspected breed mix she will most likely love going to obedience training (basic and advanced) and excel at it. She will also need regular daily exercise and stimulation to keep her busy and smart mind and body satisfied or she may find ways to keep herself occupied that her parents might not appreciate. This girl is affectionate and outgoing, eager to chill and eager to play. A home without kitty cats is probably best for her.
This beautiful sweetheart is an amazing lady and would most likely also excel as a therapy dog. Need a little sweet'n'calm in your life? Ebony would love to share hers with you! Fill out an application today and her people will get right back to you!
Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is:

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
