Truvy Jones is a sweet girl!
Gentle and shy, she appears to be a Wire Hair Terrier mix born around July 2017. She is named after one of the main characters in 1980's movie, “Steel Magnolias.” In the movie Truvy is played by the country music icon Dolly Parton. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a little time and she will be your new best friend. She is an affectionate girl who loves attention and cuddling! Given how she is a little hesitant meeting new people, she might not be a good fit for a household with children.

Truvy does have a tendency to try to escape, so a potential adopter will need to make sure she is secured and not able to dart out of doors or gates. She does stay pretty close beside you but if she ever were to be off-leash and not in a fenced area, and got spooked it would be difficult to catch her. She is house trained and does great on the leash. We don’t know how she is in a crate but she's okay being left alone while you are away in a small room. She rarely barks - only, it seems, at airplanes. We don’t yet know how she is with cats but her foster mom think she would be fine with them. She is not a digger, so your yard is safe. Her new family should be prepared to give her regular exercise, a structured routine, work with her on basic commands, take her to group training classes, help socialize her to new situations and experiences, and couple all of these things with lots of praise and treats. She's ready for action, but is more than happy to settle in for some cuddle time or to chill with one of her toys. She is great around other dogs, and currently living in a foster home with seven doggie buddies.
