Say hello to Captain Black!
The Captain is one cool dude! We are thinking he is a GORGEOUS large Black Lab mix. He is a playful, gentle, and affectionate boy. He loves playing with doggies of all shapes and sizes but can be a little hyper when meeting them for the first time. We don’t know how he is around cats. He loves being outside, either playing with his toys, playing with other dogs, or playing with you! When not outside playing, he is cool to chill with a toy. He is fully house trained but needs a little work on crate training. He is calm in the car and walks great on the leash and would love to join you on a walk, hike, or run. He's pretty quiet and rarely barks. He does show some mild resource guarding tendencies with humans, so he would be best in an adult household and one that understands how to work on this.
Captain is an active and happy boy who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make his dream come true? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!
Captain’s story: He was surrendered by his owner to a city shelter and was rescued by a loving organization. He is now a happy boy with his new best friend, his foster family’s poodle.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
