Rambo is in the house!
He is not as tough as the movie character of the same name. In fact, our Rambo is the sweetest boy! He appears to be a Boxer mix. He is an affectionate, eager to please, even tempered, intelligent, and laid back guy. He is great with kids of all ages and is fully house trained and crate trained. He loves all dogs and could care less about cats. He would be great as an only dog in a household or an addition to other dogs and cats. He is calm in the car, either tethered or in a crate, and walks great on the leash. Sounds like a great walking, running, or hiking partner! He loves to chill with one of his toys or sitting on your lap! He is fine being left alone but be prepared for many kisses from him when you get home. He is a pretty quiet boy but you might hear him bark when he wants to get your attention.

Rambo’s story: We don’t know much about this handsome boy other than he was found as a stray in Texas.

Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment.
