Barbie is a bouncy, happy girl!
She is also sweet and very playful. We are thinking this beautiful girl is a Black Lab mix. She is high energy so her new family should be prepared to give her regular exercise, a structured routine, work with her on basic commands, take her to group training classes, help socialize her to new situations and experiences, and couple all of these things with lots of praise and treats. She is also very active and needs 1-2 hours of exercise per day. Looking for a walking or running partner? If so, this girl is the dog for you! She also loves water and jumps in puddles anytime she is near one.

Barbie loves meeting new people and appears good with kids, but given her high energy and rough play we don’t recommend her for a household with young kids. Potential adopters with young children or visiting young children should keep this in mind. She is crate trained where she sleeps quietly at night. She is working on potty training and is doing pretty well and has only had a few accidents. She absolutely loves toys, but only hard ones as she will quickly chew up anything soft. Definitely no Nerf balls for this girl!

She doesn’t like to be left alone, either in her crate (except at night) or in the house. She doesn’t currently live with another dog but is friendly with other dogs she meets on her outings with her foster mom, and a household with an existing well-balanced dog may help Barbie with her anxiety of being left alone. She also doesn’t live with cats but tends to chase anything small like a cat or squirrel and so we don’t recommend her for a household with cats.
