Willie is the welcome ambassador!
He's a gentle, affectionate boy who we're thinking may be a Golden Retriever mix. He is currently at a loving shelter and pretty much lives in the lobby welcoming all visitors with his happy-go-lucky, gentle attitude and his ever-present wagging tail. We don’t know a lot about him - his vet thinks he is about 9 years old and we are guessing he is about 50 lbs. We also don’t know how he is with cats or kids. We do know he is a sweet and gentle boy who can’t wait to find a forever home! He is a smart boy who is crate trained and is easy to walk on the leash. He is also great in the car, but it would be best to either crate or tether him as he will want to jump on your lap and help you drive! We don’t know if he is house trained but suspect he probably is. He is chill with other dogs and loves hanging out with his shelter doggie friends. He is pretty quiet but if sees people coming with treats, he sometimes barks, we are thinking this is his way of saying please! He is such a gentleman!

It may take Willie some time to transition from shelter life to life in a household and a potential adopter should go slow and be prepared to give him regular exercise, a structured routine, and work with him on basic commands. We think he would do best in a relatively quiet, low foot traffic household without young children. For a 9-year-old dog he is pretty active and would love to have you throw a ball with him. Like most mature dogs, he is always happy to chill and calmly watch the world go by.
