Ranger wants to liven up your life!
He is an affectionate, playful boy who appears to be an American and English Bulldog mix. He is happy-go-lucky, and always ready for the next adventure. He would do best in a household that is prepared to give him a regular routine and structure, and lots of exercise and stimulation, as well as ready to work with him on his basic manners, teach him new skills weekly, and also solidify his ability to settle. He has just the right confidence to be a great family dog - he is amiable with kids of all ages - but they will have to be ready for bumps, jumps and kisses as he goes through his first year and more training. He is an extremely active pup who gets excited and jumps, and is always ready for the next game. He loves playing with other dogs and would love a fur-sibling who would be tolerant of his constant activity - he's like the Energizer Bunny and has LOTS of stamina! He seems okay with cats.
Ranger is currently making great progress with house, crate, and leash training. He is working really hard on learning these skills and is a joy to work with as he is very smart, eager to learn, and food motivated. He rides well in the car and likes toys. A fenced yard would be ideal so he could run and play safely off leash, as well as lots of leash walks and opportunities for on-leash adventures and training excursions. His needs must be a priority for his new hooman(s), he needs to learn to work for everything (aka, "no free lunch"); this will help him understand how to settle and be more calm, which everyone will appreciate. He will need to get 2-4 hours of exercise and stimulation EVERY day, and training must start immediately. Group training classes (and possibly some private training classes) are a "must do” to help ensure that he, and his hoomans, are happy campers. He is going to be a big dog. He's very loving with all people and would be great with children as long his needs are made a priority.
Ranger's going to make a very fun dog in the right home! Could it be yours? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!
Ranger’s story: He was adopted as a young puppy by an older couple and he got bigger than they expected, as well as a bit too active for their toddler grandchildren.
