Ace going to be the perfect addition to someone's home!
He is happy to meet and play with other dogs, cats, kids (of all ages), adults - he is just one friendly, outgoing boy! He is sweet and playful with kids he has met, but currently does not live with kids in his foster home. Ace appears to be a Black Mouth Cur mix about 9 months old. In case you aren’t familiar with Black Mouth Curs they are a hunting dog primarily found in the south. Did you know it was a Black Mouth Cur that played the role of Old Yeller in the popular movie from the 1950s?
Ace is still very much a puppy and he'll need work on his house training, but he already is crate trained and walks pretty good on the leash but still zig zags a little. He rides well in the car, is playful and likes toys. He's also learning to play fetch and would love for you to continue teaching him that awesome fun game! Ace is a pretty quiet guy, but you might hear him bark when playing with his doggie pals.
A fenced yard would be ideal so Ace could run and play safely, but if that's not available he'll need lots of leash walks and opportunities for off-leash play in a fenced area. An obedience course is a must with Ace; it will help teach him good manners and commands, further socialization with other dogs and people, and will help build that very important bond between a dog and his human. He is toy and treat motivated which will make training classes a blast for both Ace and you! The more time you invest in your dog with lots of playtime and learning time, the better behaved he will be as an adult and everyone will welcome him wherever you take him. Ace has a strong personality, so he will need a strong leader. A home that will reinforce "no free lunch", and consistently enforce house rules and manners. With good basic leadership, Ace will flourish as a welcome companion almost anywhere.
Ace is an active and happy boy who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make his dream come true? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!
