Say hello to Xena Princess Warrior Dog!

Xena is here to save you from a life of boredom! This lovely girl is all about having fun and her appetite for fun and play is contagious. You can't help but being happy around Xena! She appears to be a black and tan Rottweiler mix that is about 3 years old.

She has a lot of fun energy that will be great for an active person or family. She is initially timid in some new situations and may hide from you when you first bring her home but once she gets to know you, she is very friendly. She is protective/territorial of women and children when someone new visits until she knows they aren’t a threat. She has mainly lived with women and we aren’t sure how she will be living with men, but suspect she will be ok as she is so affectionate and gentle. She loves kids and her best friend is her foster family’s 2-year-old who she is very calm and gentle with. Xena is playful with dogs but we don’t know how she is with cats. Xena will bark at strangers and dogs she hasn’t met. She has escaped from her foster family’s fenced yard, mainly out of eagerness, but always comes back.

She is house trained, almost crate trained, and needs a little work on her leash skills where she tends to pull. She is calm in the car and would love to join you on a walk, run, or hike! Xena should attend obedience training, as it not only helps with training and manners, it also helps form a lasting bond with her new family. A fenced yard would be ideal so Xena could run and play safely, but if that's not available she'll need lots of leash walks and opportunities for off-leash play in a fenced area.
