Nice to make your acquaintance, I'm Heath May!
I can't wait to learn more about you - my potential forever family; however let's get started by getting to know me! It's been a rough start to life for my siblings and I, so I just can't wait to come up north and get adopted into my very own loving family. Remember when the south got all that weird white fluffy stuff the humans call snow back in February? Well about during that bad snowstorm is when we were born. Since my mom was a stray that befriended a local family, we were born outside on their property. Initially there were nine of us, but unfortunately two of us didn't make it. My mom's caregiver was able to set us up in a wooden dog house with a heat lamp to try and keep us warm during that cold weather, but after a couple weeks my mom moved us to hide under a nearby abandoned house. Unfortunately, we lost another sibling at that stage before our rescuers were able to secure us back on their property with a nice big kennel to keep us safe. So as you can see, I would just so so appreciate a loving and caring family to cuddle with in a warm and cozy house to make me forget my rough start to life!

My rescuers think my littermates and I are an Australian shepherd mix, but my mom looks like she might be a retriever mix of some sort. There are four of us males (Heath, Hawthorn, Coreopsis, Clematis) and two females (Azalea, Dahlia). Given our potential breed mix, I would probably do best with a family that can provide lots of stimulation and consistency. We haven't been exposed to a lot of situations yet, but we get along with each other and our foster family's other dog, the human's 2 y/o son, and all new adults that we have met although we can by a little shy at first. We love to give affection, cuddle, are eager to please, and are super playful! My favorite things are chew or squeaky toys and wrestling or chasing my littermates. Given that I haven't lived inside a house yet, I will need the works for training (house, obedience, leash, crate) but I'm super smart and motivated so I promise with a pocket full of training treats and some practice I'll learn my manners in no time! Going to an obedience class with you will be so much fun - I'll get to learn so many new things and get to socialize with other dogs!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
