Meet the Porch Pups!

This litter of adorable puppies are all little boys – Chickadee, Eddie Earl, Griffen, Levi, Pete, and Pippin. We are thinking these handsome dudes are a Border Collie mix.

The Porch pups are friendly with everyone they meet. Eddie has met kids a few times and was gentle, but we don't know how he would be living with kids. The pups are highly active and will need regular stimulation and help learning how to settle into a household. They have been living in quiet, low traffic household since birth and think they would do best is a similar environment in their forever home. A busy home with multiple kids would probably not be best for these guys.

Eddie recently completed crate training and he doesn't make a peep in his crate all night! He is working really hard on potty training and leash training and doing great, but still needs a little more practice. He  loves toys, especially ones that squeak, and is happy to chill with a toy when not playing with you! Eddie is pretty quiet, but you might hear him bark when playing.

All the Porch pups are eager to learn, toy and treat motivated little squirts, so puppy training classes will be lots of fun! We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization. A proper socialization plan is critical for these busy pups!

Porch pups’ story: The litter was accidental. The owner has agreed to spay their mom (Raven) and is looking for help in finding homes for these healthy happy pups.

Medical Note: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age.
