This pretty, sweet lil' lady is Vanilla Millie (or Millie for short)!
Millie appears to be a Border Collie (or Australian Shepherd??) mix about 1 year old. She's very gentle and sweet, and has the most gorgeous coat!
In so many ways, Millie is such a lovely and easy pup. She is house trained and walks nicely on a leash for short, familiar jaunts. On walks she likes to linger and sniff sometimes, as well as pull sometimes to great new dogs and people. Her favorite kinds of walks are those in the woods on a long lead. She is quiet in the house, and friendly and affectionate. She does not counter surf or destroy things. She is a velcro wallflower to her person. Millie absolutely loves toys especially ones that squeak (she loves to shred cheap, fluffy toys) as well as squishy, bouncy balls. She can entertain herself quite a bit with a Planet Dog bouncy ball! And she LOVES crunchy buffalo ears!
Millie is looking for a home with a very regular and predictable routine, minimal time away from her human(s), and patience and soft-spokenness. In the several months that she has been in foster care, we have learned that Millie
is extremely anxious with new routines and in new environments; she will pace and show many stress signs, including persistent face-licking, but she when in these states she does not bark and is not aggressive.
Her adopter will need to take things slow in the beginning until she's settled, and only introduce changes in very small doses and over time, while also working with Millie on some confidence building activities. This is what her foster has been doing, and Millie is really doing well!
Millie is benign with all dogs and eager to meet them; she enjoys walks with them as well as yard romps.
She also loves attention from all humans; she has met humans of all ages and is very gentle and sweet with them all.
Millie would likely do best in a household without another dog and without children, though, as that would reduce the amount of unpredictability that she will need to adjust to.
If you are looking for a sweet, loving, adorable pup, and have the lifestyle that Millie needs, we PROMISE you that this sweet creature of a pup will steal your heart in seconds and be SO worth it!
A fenced yard would be ideal so Millie can run and play safely and experience a controlled and predictable environment for outside play and exercise time.
Sweet Millie deserves a home of her own to love her as much as she will love them. If she sounds like just the right fit for your home, fill out an application today!
Millie's Back Story: She was found as a stray and is now living with a loving foster family and doing great!
