You will fall in love with Baby!
This beautiful lady is going to be the perfect addition to someone's home! We are thinking sweet and gentle Baby is a Hound and American Bulldog mix. She is a new mom that recently weaned a healthy and happy pup named Wiggles that was adopted through SOS and now Baby is looking for her forever home.
She is affectionate with everyone she meets including kids and was gentle with her previous foster family’s 7-year-old. She loves other dogs but tends to warm up to them slowly, but give her a little time and Baby will be their new best friend! Her current foster family has two cats who Baby tends to ignore. Her foster mom says Baby is an easy-going happy and quiet girl that gets along well with everyone and thrives on snuggles!
Baby is a smart girl that is house trained and crate trained. Looking for a walking or running partner? If so, Baby is the dog for you! She rides well in the car and would love to join you on a walk or hike. A fenced yard would be ideal so Baby could run and play safely, but if that's not available she'll need lots of leash walks and opportunities for off-leash play in a fenced area. An obedience course would be great for Baby; it will help teach her good manners and commands, further socialization with other dogs and people, and will help build that very important bond between a dog and her human.
Baby is a gentle happy girl who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make her dream come true? Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family!
Baby’s story: She was found with her pup on a country road where dogs are frequently dumped. A caring resident on the road took the two in and reached out to a loving rescue organization for help in finding them forever homes.
Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is: https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
