This sweet and playful girl can't wait to meet you. We aren't quite sure what she is a mix of, but we do know she is super cute. Her mom was a pregnant stray taken in by a family who reached out to our southern rescue partner for help rehoming Winterfresh and her brothers and sisters.

She has arrived in New England and is settling in nicely with a loving foster family. She has started on housetraining is doing great, but still needs a little more practice. She is crate trained but needs work on her leash skills as she is still very scared of the leash. She is timid of new places and unsure of cars and sudden noises. Winterfresh is friendly with everyone she meets and is best friends with her foster family's teenagers. She loves other dogs but tends to be dog selective - she loves pups her size but is timid around older/larger dogs. We don't yet know how she is with cats. Winterfresh's foster mom says she is a little reserved but not overly shy and thinks she would do best with another similar size dog in the household. We think with time and slow introductions to new situations and other dogs she will gain confidence.

We recommend that you and Winterfresh sign up for some dog training classes together, ideally in the first 60 days or so of bringing her home. Group training classes are a great way to reinforce important skills, learn some new tricks, and get some quality socialization time with other furry friends.

Is a gum puppy making you sing "I'm stuck on you" - if so, don't wait to apply to adopt Winterfresh Gum today!

Medical Note: A littermate of this dog tested positive and was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. This dog has also been preventatively treated and currently shows no symptoms of demodectic mange. Please note that demodex can have a hereditary component and/or flare up in any dog in times of stress (e.g., transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a personal or family history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741 . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
