Meet Sally Triangle!
Sally is one of two sisters who look like Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mixes. She is just over 3 months old and has lived a quiet life so far.
So far, Sally has been playful and friendly with the adults and other dogs in her foster home. She hasn't met any cats or many children, so we're not sure how she would adjust to living with them just yet.
For the most part, Sally has spent a lot of time outside and with her puppy sister at her foster home. She's working on spending some more time inside, practicing her house manners, and socializing. She needs more time to build her confidence in new situations and with new relationships, so an active/chaotic household might not be the best fit for her. Sally is generally an even-tempered dog, but still can have her moments of hyper puppy energy, as well as caution in new situations. You could channel some of that energy into playtime, walks, or some squeaky chew toys (her favorite!). Slow introductions to new situations, paired with super awesome treats, will be important to continue to build Sally's confidence. Also, as with all of our dogs, we'd recommend you enroll Sally in some puppy training classes and maybe even one-on-one sessions to tailor the work to Sally's specific needs. These sessions will be essential in helping her (and you!) learn some important skills, while providing a comfortable space to socialize with other dogs and people. She is a smart girl who is crate trained but needs a little more practice on housetraining as well as her other life skills.
Sally's Back Story: Sally was found as a young puppy along with her mom, siblings and another adult dog. The others have found their forever homes, and now we are hoping to find the same for Sally and Prissy Ann!
If you have a fairly low traffic home and are able to take the time to train Sally and slowly help her socialize, you could be a great fit for this pup. Fill out an application today!
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.
To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/
**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
