Say hello to Jackson! We think he's about a 2-year-old Terrier mix. He's a playful and happy dog who has fun with everyone he meets -- adults, kids, dogs, and cats! He is not reactive.  He mostly wants to sit in your lap and cuddle, but then playtime happens, and he is torn.  Jackson really likes his squeaky chew toys! He barks a little when he's excited and trying to get your attention, but he's also a very gentle and even-tempered dog.

He gets very excited to visit new places and have some fun adventures! Jackson would love to go on walks with his human(s) and have playgroups with other furry friends. He loves other dogs, especially playing tug-o-war and chasing one another. He would also probably really enjoy a dog training class since he'd get some bonus playtime with other pups. He doesn't need too much help with his other training because he is such a champ with his house training and leash training! He also really loves crate time and is comfortable putting himself in there when he's ready to relax (when he's not cuddling with you, of course). However, it's always a great idea to work on refining some other skills. For example, he sometimes tries to escape through doors and gates, and you could learn some valuable tips for breaking this habit in a training class.

Jackson is a fun-loving, goofy little pup and ready to find his forever home! Fill out an application today and come meet him soon.

Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Treatment has been completed, and the dog has tested negative for both microfilaria and heartworm antigen and is ready to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment. A good resource for more information on heartworm disease is:  https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics . Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this.

To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
