This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Sadie is your typical, boisterous lab mix who hasn’t had a stable home to help her bring out her total awesomeness.
She is playful with the adult couple and preschooler she lives with and respects corrections when she gets too excited. She shows a little less control with the dogs on the property, playing very hard and not always understanding the need for personal space. She also likes the cats and sometimes chases them but can be redirected.
Sadie’s caretaker describes her as affectionate, outgoing, even-tempered, quiet, resilient, and eager to please – all the makings of a great dog. The loves toys, walks, fetch, hiking, swimming (she is a Lab, after all), cuddling, and crate time. With her doggy friends, she likes to play bitey-mouth, chase, and tug-of-war – and she’s always up for some rough-and-tumble wrestling.
Her house training is in progress, and she hasn’t had any accidents. She does well in the car, either crated, tethered, or loose. She does need work on house manners, tending to jump on guests and furniture and chewing things she shouldn't when she is left without toys.
Training is a must for Sadie. It will help her learn how to be a good dog and bond with you. She needs structure and stability, and why wouldn’t she? The poor thing was dumped at the end of a road near a farm. Luckily, the owner took her in and saved her from the rough life of a stray.
Sadie is looking for a patient person or family who will teach her she doesn’t have to demand love and attention; they will freely give it to her by the bushel. Is that you? Sadie hopes so!
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
