Has the idea of adding a new pup to your life been bugging you lately? Well, here’s your chance to adopt one of our adorable “Bug” pups.
These three sweet, dachshund/terrier mixes are playful and get along with everyone in their foster household — adults, children, and cats. They are a bit submissive around new dogs and have not been exposed to cats or small animals from outside of their home. They are responsive to corrections and eager to please.
Lady Bug is an amazing dog and is completely deaf.
A potential adopter will need to be committed to working with a professional trainer to teach Lady Bug hand commands and recall (aka doggie sign language). Also, an adopter should have the time, energy, and resources to help Lady settle into a routine. The first 6-12 months will likely be a lot of hard work and be quite challenging at times, but will pay off with sweet and loving companion. Her foster mom thinks she would learn quickly if a modest amount of time and effort were invested in teaching her to communicate.
Lady Bug loves to follow her foster mom everywhere and snuggle in bed with the kids. She has short Dachshund legs and cute dachshund ears.
The litter is calm when crated in the care and take interest in new places, settling quickly once they have a look around.
On their list of likes: toys, walks, playing fetch, lap time, chew toys, running, cuddling, and crate time. They tend to bark in play and when alerting to something new in their territory.
House training and crate training are in progress.
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see

*Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
