Meet Ida Good! Boy does she live up to her name!
Ida is an absolute love who has enjoyed everyone she has met thus far! She loves adults, kids, other dogs. She bonded with her foster family very quickly and we expect the same in her new home.
Her foster family says she does well indoors and only has accidents when she gets excited. It’s best to crate her when she’s alone, though, because she tends to chew inappropriately if left to her own devices. She is in foster care with 4 other dogs and is doing well. She lived with a cat in her Southern foster that she liked to chase. We have not seen her with cats since being in Rhode Island.
Ida is a very active dog who loves long walks, and swimming, and can jump like a deer! Some of her other favorite things are running, crate time, lap time, and rough wrestling.
She tends to be anxious when first getting into the car but calms quickly and does well either crated or tethered.
Training is a must for Ida. She would love to work on her manners and to build her self-confidence. Training will also help her bond with you and make her a better housemate!
Medical Note: This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia. This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time. **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
