This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Meet Walter! This handsome pup is a poodle mix and can be described as affectionate and gentle. He has been successfully cohabitating with other pups and loves to play with them, or to play fetch with his humans.
While Walter does well when meeting new humans, he can be cautious in new places and may try to escape. He will need a patient adopter who will help him acclimate to new situations. Walter is also working on his house, crate, and leash skills and will need an adopter who will continue this training. We strongly recommend that all of our dogs attend obedience classes to learn commands, develop confidence, and socialize with other dogs.

Medical Note:
This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia.
This does not mean that this dog had/has an active infection of ehrlichiosis, only that the dog was exposed or infected in the past. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and is being treated/has been treated preventatively with a 28-day course of doxycycline.
This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time.
