Introducing Bonfire a lively, sweet pup!

Being just a puppy Bonfire, has so much to learn about the world!  He’ll need house training, crate training and will need to learn to walk on a leash. He will also need continued positive experiences with the world to learn it is a good and fun place.  Bonfire can be a little hesitant about new experiences, and is also just getting used to being separated from his siblings.  He has been exposed to children, but will need to continue to build his confidence at his own pace with little humans as they can be unpredictable; we don't recommend Bonfire for a busy household with multiple young children.

We strongly recommend that all our dogs - and especially puppies - attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his/her human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him/her. Though a fenced yard is an ideal place for your puppy to romp and play safely, if that’s not an option then lots of daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Puppies are a lot of work and require a strong commitment to teaching them obedience, socializing them with other dogs and people, playing with them and loving them to pieces. It takes a lot of time, energy and patience to bring up a puppy - and it’s totally worth it!

Bonfire Sheltie's Back Story:  Bonfire was born into foster care after his pregnant mother an approximately 20–25-pound Pomeranian sheltie mix was brought into a shelter down south; these adorable siblings bring boundless joy and affection.

If you're ready to make that awesome commitment to bring up PUPPY, then fill out an application today! Sweet puppy kisses and warm furry snuggles may soon come your way!

An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see      HERE      for more information about this.

*Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
