Harley is also quite the smarty-pants, learning new tricks faster than you can teach them! He is housetrained, crate trained and needs some work on his leash skills. His playful nature is contagious, spreading joy wherever he goes. Harley has a soft spot for children and is gentle around them, making him an ideal family pet. His love for toys is unparalleled, and he can spend hours playing fetch. With Harley, every day is a new adventure. Adopt Harley and bring home a bundle of joy, love, and smart goofiness. His sweet nature and playful spirit make him the perfect addition to any family, promising a lifetime of happiness and companionship.
Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption, though may still have some bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.
Medical Note: This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia and showed symptoms consistent with an active infection. This dog has been treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline and all symptoms have resolved. This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time. There is also a chance that the symptoms could recur and/or additional treatment be needed. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia, and please check with your vet before you apply to adopt this dog if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
