This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

Bentley Ritz is a three year old terrier mix with irresistibly sweet eyes. He is currently living in a foster home with an adult female, four other dogs, and four cats, as well as grandchildren who visit daily. He is well integrated into the home, but is also comfortable in his crate for several hours at a time. He is very playful, but responsive to corrections. He finds the resident cats interesting, but is easily redirected.

Bentley is somewhat independent, but always eager to please. He is sometimes timid when he meets other dogs, but once he relaxes, he enjoys wrestling with them. He also loves toys, especially squeakys. In fact, he is quite a toy thief, but he is so charming that nobody minds. Nothing makes him happier than cuddling in your lap for hours, and he will make himself fit no matter how little room there is.

His house and crate training are in progress. He is learning to walk on a leash, although he finds the world exciting, so he sometimes pulls. As he adjusts to his new lifestyle, he will sometimes mark in the house, but again, he is responsive to corrections. He can be a scamp and will try to dig his way free if he is left unsupervised in a fenced yard. He will sometimes bark when he is playing. Of course, we always recommend obedience training for all of our dogs. It helps the two of you bond, and the dog develops confidence.

Bentley is an affectionate and delightful adult dog. He will be a loving companion and constant couch buddy to anyone who is lucky enough to bring him home!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
